The Adaptation Network, established in South Africa in 2009, is a multi-stakeholder network aimed at knowledge sharing, capacity building, policy engagement and collective learning around climate adaptation and resilience.

Strength in Diversity
The membership of over 400 is made up of civil society groups, academia, the public and private sectors, as well as individuals from across southern Africa. The strength of the network lies in its diverse membership, which connects policymakers, civil society groupings, researchers, and select stakeholders in the private sector. By learning from and with each other, the network aims to enhance adaptive capacity and reduce vulnerability to climate change, particularly among the most affected and marginalised communities.
