Participatory Modeling for Assessment of Climate Change Impacts on Water Resources

Project Details
Organisation(s) involved: University of KwaZulu-Natal (School of Bioresources Engineering and Environmental Hydrology) and Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (FoUh Research Department – Hydrology)
Project Objective/ Description: The project aims to increase understanding and produce more relevant information for planning and adaptation to climate variability and change in relation to water resources through a participatory process. The project will adapt a catchment model after stakeholder requirements, use high-resolution regional climate change scenarios, assess the impact of participatory modeling on stakeholders’ perceptions of climate change related to water resources, explore how to increase stakeholder confidence and twin to a participatory modeling project in Sweden to assess similarities and differences.
