Secretariat
The Secretariat is overseen by a Network Coordinator, a position that is appointed by the organisation hosting the network. Currently, this role is held by Penelope Price, who brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the position having worked on adaptation in the public sector, research environment and at community level. Her ability to ‘join the dots’ across a range of organisations, opportunities and thematic interests serves the membership well in terms of building and strengthening the network.

The Adaptation Network is a partner in the multi-year “South Africa/Flanders Climate Adaptation Research and Training Partnership (SAF-ADAPT)”. Led by the ACDI, it involves the Risk & Vulnerability Science Centre at the University of Fort Hare, the University of Venda’s School of Environmental Sciences, and KU Leuven on behalf of KLIMOS. The project seeks to enhance adaptation research, generate new evidence, and foster a community of practice across government, academia, NGOs, CBOs, and the private sector. The Adaptation Network’s role is to link key stakeholders.
