What We Do

The Adaptation Network provides a platform for members to engage, collaborate, and share knowledge. We focus on networking, capacity building, and creating opportunities for learning and growth. Through open dialogue and shared expertise, we aim to strengthen representation in key policy engagements and collectively support climate adaptation.

Networking

Enabled by its unique position at the hub of an extensive network spanning members from policy, practice and research, the Secretariat identifies, initiates and supports activities that build, strengthen and extend the network.

Capacity Building Activities

The AN sources funding to offer members a wide range of capacity building activities. Examples include peer-to-peer learning exchanges, storytelling for impact, basic climate science, facilitation, community-based participatory approaches, technical skills, workshops on a wide range of climate adaptation related topics such as climate finance, gender and climate change, agro-ecology, just transitions, adaptation in the food system and more.

Sharing Information & Opportunities

The Secretariat acts as a central hub for adaptation-related information and opportunities, which is disseminated network-wide. These are sourced both internally from within the membership, and also from sources external to the network that the Secretariat actively scans for information and opportunities that may be useful to the members.

Representation

The Adaptation Network has a system whereby members represent the network on key policy forums, and feedback on these to the broader membership at the quarterly Online Policy Space, which also provide an opportunity for input to future meetings. In this way, the AN is able to cover a wide range of policy engagements.
